$350? Then you can get your self an Intel 4790k. Based on benchmarks, Intel has better single-core performance compared to AMD. AMD compensates for that by adding more cores. Since the i7 series has hyper threading it's basicly 4 physical cores and 4 virtual cores,that said match that up to an AMD 9590 , Intel will dominate. Of course you have to consider AMD's cons such as more power usage and more heat produced. $350 i guess is a perfect fit for you since editing is your main priority. The i7 series are more of a business type processor to get work done. An i5 is an i7 but without the hyper threading. If you don't plan on overclocking go for the i7 4790 or a 4770 or if you do plan on overclocking a 4770K, on Intel anything ending with...
