I'm looking to upgrade my RAM.

Specs:

1600MHz ADATA ram (unknown timings)
Biostar Hi-Fi A85w
AMD A10-6800k
CX500 PSU

As you can see above, I have 1600 MHz ram. I ran into some "disposable income" and I would like to upgrade my RAM. My MOBO claims that it supports 1600/1866/2133(OC)/2400(OC). Do I have to overclock my RAM to get to 2133 and 2400 speeds? Also, what sticks should I be looking for? Right now, all I want is a 2 x 4gb kit. Thanks!

But while i think for the money i think you should get a system with an independent gpu and cpu, you should be looking for dual channel kits and ram between the frequencies of 1800 mhz - 2100mhz for your apu. And you don't need to overclock if your ram comes at 2100mhz stock but if it lower than that then yes you have to overlock.

What are you doing that requires more than 8GB of RAM? You won't see much of a difference in increasing the RAM speed from 1600MHz to 1800 or 2100MHz in day to day normal use. Sock it away for a better upgrade, later. The timings for your current config are in your signature link, unless that is not your rig anymore.

Well, benchmarks have proven that upgrading the speed of RAM in APU based systems greatly increase performance, both graphically and computationally.
