edit: sorry posted in wrong forum. ill post elsewhere.

Ok, just bought the computer in my sig. Set it all up with no probs. Installed XP pro, no probs. Then came the driver installation...

First time i installed them all at once. Turned comp back on and it was slower than molasses on a porch in wisconsin in february.

2nd time i installed all one by one with a restart in between each to find the culprit. The only prob driver i could find was the ATI software.

With that found I figured I would try downloading from ati's site to bypass the CD. I reformatted, reinstalled OS, installed gigabyte drivers, and ran to the internet. Got drivers, downloaded and installed; rebooted for good measure.

Upon startup, everything is extremely sluggish once again. I've check my temps in bios, everything seems hunkie dory, 30C or so.

Does anyone have any ideas? This is been quit a pain in the neck/ass. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks a ton in advance!

Try cleaning up and defragging the computer and see if that helps. I generally do it in same and Administrator rather than the log on name. Right click on each hard drive in My Computer and do a Disk Cleanup, check all boxes. Then Defrag each hard drive. If you know what you're doing, go into msconfig startup and stop programs and processes you don't need from loading. I use a program call The Ultimate Troubleshooter to so this, which tells you about the various processes and advised for a lot of them whether to stop them from loading or not. Nifty little program. If it's still really slow after this, it could be other settings, video card, or video card driver
