to start with you want to be using something called pcpart picker, it makes it a lot easier to pick different parts and also for us on here! http://pcpartpicker.com/ also could you make sure your currency is stated! I know as soon as I go on a link I can tell what your currency is but it just helps a lot if you write it first hand! Sadly none of the links are working for me for some reason just give me your rough budget and I create a list of parts!

sorry about the wait my internet is soo slow tonight basically that PSU ain't great any PSU from XFX is normally gonna be pretty good!

wow guys thanks for helping me pick the parts ineed. I need to read and study more so i can understand in the future. when the parts come hopefully i can get it running.

how good is those other sites compared to newegg? I never used those other sites to buy my parts but i herd good things and bad things. are they trustworthy

I am not sure as I am in the UK just search them in the web and see what comes up there will pretty much always be bad reviews for everything as long as there isn't a ridiculous number of them they should be fine and also I wouldn't have though PC part picker would have used those sites if they didn't work

I have ordered from superbiz and NCIX. NCIX was the newegg of Canada, before both expanded services to other countries. I believe a friend of mine ordered one the parts, of his system, from outletpc. Actually, I ordered a wifi card from them, for another friend, not that long ago. No issues, and were pretty quick about getting my order out.

SO i brought the cx 500 consair psu before i made this thread. I should return it and get the xfx? the cx500 hasent been open.

Most definitely return it.

the build is finish and it runs but on the case it has a front fan where would i connect that too or do i need to connect that? another thing is on my motherboard there is a pwr fan and idk what connects to that. also i have a hdd that has windows xp on it my mobo or bios wont access it because i think my mobo doesnt support xp. iis there a way i can covert the mbr to gpt with out erasing the hdd so i can installl windows 8.1?

built my pc and it runs fine but now im in the process of looking for a graphics card. I know my cpu is not that great but it was the best i could or i7 on the budget i had. It has to be able to run emulators like ps2 and dreamcast and others and newish games if it can. also i use photoshop and a few other non gaming programs. i see the EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB Superclocked Video Card and 2gb in this thread i made but when i started browsing cards on pcpartpicker some got the same rating as the ones in this thread. my budget is around 200 or less i can try to go a little bit over.

my build
XFX TS Series P1550SXXB9 550W ATX12V 2.2 & ESP12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Bronze
Intel Core i3-4160 Haswell Dual-Core 3.6 GHz LGA 1150 54W BX80646I34160 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics
ASRock H97 Pro4 LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Windows 8.1 pro

If you want to game, I would trash the i3 and go with the Pentium g3258, an absolute overclocking beast, and very few games properly utilize over 2 cores. Another 2 threads won't make much of a difference. For gaming, the pentium would be the best option as you can spend more money on your graphics card, which is what really matters for gaming. You could also opt for the amd route if you really need more cores (like the fx6300, much better than an i3). Hope this helps!

Edit: Woops! It seems you have already put together your build! I would have to agree with the amd gpu, as they are pushing ahead of Nvidia at the moment. Good luck!

The 380 is faster than the 950, and a bit faster than a 960.

Im back and i still haven't brought a graphics card yet because i didnt really have much funds after Christmas. now i have enough funs to buy one im was thinking of buying http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127832&ignorebbr=1. it has good reviews and its in my price range. will it fit the case i have?
