I'm not able to access my external HDD!

My external HDD appears in my (Windows) File Explorer, but it doesn't seem to be fully detected (because the storage details and name doesn't appear) and I can't access it!

I hope you have duplicates of the data on another drive as a backup. It's not wise to rely on a single drive to store your important files on.

If it's a WD drive, test it with Data LifeGuard Diagnostic for Windows:

Hi there SafARx,

You can attach the drive with a different cable to a different system.
In case the issue persists, you can go to BIOS and Disk Management and see how the drive appears over there. If the HDD does not show its full capacity under BIOS, then most probably it has failed.
If the drive is recognized by Disk Management, you can test it with the tools that Phillip Corcoran provided.
