I'm not seeing the Home screen on my WD passport to allow me to choose what to do - how can I get this to display please?

When I connect my WD hard drive, I can view the files that are already on it in Windows Explorer, but at no stage do I see any Backup screen offering me options to select what I want to do & proceed with a backup.

Please can anyone tell or show me how to retrieve this?

I'm sorry to hear about your struggle with the WD My Passport.
Maybe you should re-install your WD SmartWare program.

Launch the SmartWare software. You can launch SmartWare in various ways as below:

a) All Programs > Smartware

b) Open the drive and double-click on Smartware.exe

c) Click on the SmartWare icon in the notification area at bottom-right of the screen (near the time display).
