I'm about to order the parts for my first pc. I went on newegg's power supply calculator and plugged my components into the drop-down lists and it told me my recommended PSU wattage is 386 watts. I used pcpartpicker too and that said 329 watts.
I also need to bear in mind I'll be using a wired mouse, wired keyboard, 3 additional case fans plus the one that comes with the case, a USB wireless adapter, at least temporarily, and a USB flash drive. But, someone please clarify, these all use tiny amounts of power, like less than 1 watt each.
And a 20 watt speaker potentially.
And then there's overclocking, which I assume the website's power supply calculator's didn't take into account but then again I don't know.
So with all that in mind I'm considering a 450 or 500 watt PSU.
Thoughts?
