Hi. I'm still stuck on LGA775 and I currently don't have enough money to upgrade my mobo cpu and ram and I'm saving up for it. I was wondering would an intel core 2 quad Q9550 be a sufficient upgrade for the time being and good enough for games like csgo and quake champions that i get 30 fps on a pentium e5700.

Solution
If pentium is already dual core then there is very little gain to here in the grand scheme of things.

Right now your pentium has 15% the performance of a modern system. SO going to a core2quad will take you to 22%. Now 22% is 1.5x more than 15% so keeping perspective limited to just that it seems good. But the reality of the situation is that 22% is still nearly as insufficient as 15% is.
