I'm thinking about buying Dell's P2415Q/P2715Q 4k IPS monitors. Go for it or not??

They are a year old, getting a bit cheaper over time and awaiting their days of being obsolete as their UP predecessors have gone through. I'm just gonna do light video editing, typical web browsing and with a strong EVGA GTX 1060 (SSC/FTW??), just go for 1440p gaming, maybe 4k gaming on Killer Instinct 2013/hopefully Tekken 7 and classic Nintendo games via Dolphin Emulator.

So, what are the pros and cons with these displays?? Anyone own these displays?? I understand that 2560x1440p will remain a sweet spot for pc gaming and anything else right now and I can go for it if things change.

Both are very good monitors, but the GTX1060 is only really good for 1080P in new titles (and 1440p in older ones). Why not just spend the cash on a much better 1080p monitor? A lot of 144Hz monitors and even some IPS 144Hz ones for about the same price.

For 1080p/144hz, I am deliberating on a LG 24GM77, a $270 TN panel. And I've been avoiding ASUS and Acer due to warranty problems from users.

Initially, I considered staying at 1080p until an iteration of a GTX card with the Titan X-Pascal's chip/VRAM at the 1060 6GB's price could be released in the far future, then hunt down those Dell displays and enjoy 4k.

Perhaps I'd like to do game benchmark tests from time to time, see if my outdated build can stand the Crysis and Witcher franchises.
