hi, im thinking of buying a pc from ibuypower because i like the design and i want a pre-built pc. but the PC im getting is from the US and im in the UK. is it safe to buy a pc from i buypower and how much would the delivery be? ive been trying to look for the cost of the delivery but i cant find it. do they even ship to the UK? thank you for reading, if you can answer my questions that would be fantastic!

I hear that they use cheap parts, and mark up the prices. Then since it is coming from the US, it could cost even mroe.

iBuyPower (and CyberPowerPC) are generally on the Not Recommended list.

Assembly is often shoddy, and unless you are very, very careful, some of the parts will be substandard.
The PSU, for instance. Or no name RAM.

I would suggest that you establish a budget and the goals for your system (what it will be used for). preferences, etc and post here. Once components are selected, take the list to a "local mom and pop" store or even a local computer club and have them build for you.

Mass market builders use "name" parts for the adds... and most buyers don't look past Intel GPU, nVidia GFX and they're done. Things like HD speed (rpm), PSU, case, fans, MoBo, etc, unless they allow options, are basically "what is the cheapest we can buy this week ?". This is buy no means haphazard "ah we just happened to have a few of these" kinda thing. This **is** how they make their money.

Just like industries with on site power who select daily whether to use power "off the grid" or power their generators with oil or gas, rest assured they practice "on time delivery" and select component choices frequently.

As for shipping, I wouldn't trust the shipping companies to ship it from next door let alone "across the pond".

They do ship to the UK, but I would avoid.

It's been mentioned, but substandard PSU, RAM, motherboards & CPU coolers are fairly common - they use whatever they have laying around, unless you specify otherwise - and that then costs extra.

You're always better off building yourself..... but if you don't want to (or "can't" in a select few cases, almost everyone "can"*), then look to a local builder/store who will allow you to customize your parts list & will assemble for you.

*Can't should really be limited to kids who's parents won't allow them to (although they can often be persuaded), or I would assume some disabilities would necessitate third party builders in some cases.
