I'm thinking of moving to Intel!

Hey guys,

I mainly play games, especially games that are 'cpu intensive' such as Diablo 3, RuneScape and World of Warcraft.

My current CPU: Fx 6300 4,5ghz Oc'd but that is not enough and i'm not satisified with such a horrible performance in games that requires better CPU.

My budget is 366,19€ for a good motherboard and a I5 intel.

However, i'm not sure which motherboard I should choose, some people tell me choose Asrock and some Asus (Z97). One friend even told me that I should not get I5, would that be a huge difference compared to my overclocked FX?

If I buy Intel I5 that is not overclockable, is that still enough to play all modern games? (paired with 970x gtx)

Apologize for my bad wording, I meant for instance: Intel Core i5 4440 3,1 GHz (Haswell) (3,3ghz turbo) that one is not overclockable, is that enough to play all modern games? Is it necessary to overclock Intel Cpu?

Well i too have this same processor, and it's pretty reliable for gaming when paired with a good Card, you shall be satisfied

i5 is the best choice, IMO, for a gaming system and does not need to be overclocked. Match it with a good GPU and you are ready to go.

Not at all. Even the "cheapest" i5s easily outperform FX8xxx series in gaming due to excellent single-threaded performance. Overclocking is definitely not required.

I decided to choose MSI Z97 PC Mate and 4690k I5, Is that good choice?

i dont know about others but one thing i personally believe is that intel processors are better than amd's processors just like nvidia graphics are better than amd's graphics.....even an intel i5 3rd gen of k series can outperform the fx 6300..
but you should get the overclockable version though there would be no need to overclock it.....

If you can afford to drop 290€ on an i7 4770, and then another 105€ on an MSI Z97M-G43, you will be in business friend. I choosed the motherboard you told me together with a Intel I5 4690k, from that site I order things I couldn't find the I7-4770

np, and if you can't do the i7 4770 then I would go with the i5 4690k as you considered above.
