Solution

is that good of a video card actually necessary for the gaming i'm doing?

Well this rig will last for a couple of years.

Entire case and OS, at your budget. Assumes you have mouse/keyboard and monitor.

It's also 1100 dollars with an OS.

I do not promote pirating, but he could lend a CD from a friend.

You could go the Amd route, and save quite a bit actually. And you are right, neither WoW or LoL require an expensive video card. But for a thousand dollars, OS included you can get what I listed, and if you can get a copy of Windows cheap, get what SimonGranstrom listed(i'd swap a few things on his build though).

Cheaper, could still shave some money too, but this is pretty cheap and good performance for those games.

I'm sorry if some parts are expensive, but i live in sweden and we don't use dollars here.

Well, if you want the Intel Cpu, gotta get a motherboard to match it. Could save money on that too, honestly. Get a non-"k" Cpu, then get an H series chipset motherboard like 4470 Cpu and H87 motherboard. Would save 40 or 50 dollars or so.

Deal on the Cpu ends the 20th, but you get the idea.
