I'm Using the original Thermal paste from my Intel Stock cooler

I'm Using the original Thermal paste from my Intel Stock cooler for 3 Years now... I know that that's way overboard for how long you should change thermal pastes, and I"m planning to change it next week, but to help me prevent mishaps like this... Can I ask how long is the life span of a Thermal Paste??? what are the hazards of not changing it for that long... because as of the moment I'm afraid too look into my CPU XD

Honestly if nothing happened so far you won't have to worry too much. When replacing, if you haven't before, make sure to clean off both surfaces with rubbing alcohol. Some say, when re-applying thermal paste, to put a pea sized dot in the center of the CPU or a thin line down the middle.
