Hi
Is there software available that can capture and save images from a web site
running a webcam?
I have found some interesting webcams of monuments etc, and thought it would
be useful to record a sequence of images over a period of 24 hours.

i'd recommend www.homewatcher.com
but it depends on the cam/webpage.

After grab images you can create avi file. (webcam --> autosave)

Yes, you can use TrackerCam Software. Use the Surveillance feature to
capture images at a specified interval and then replay them with a
built-in replay tool:
