image tearing nvidea

When I disable "desktop composition" in windows seven I get an unbearable amounts of video tearing.

GPU: NVIDEA GTX 550TI.
CPU: AMD Phenom II six core
RAM: 8.0GB

I have Vsync on. The tearing stops when I turn back on "desktop composition". When its off it tears when watching videos with MPC-HCx64 and scrolling web pages.
