images as a user option?

After last night I was wondering if it's possible to have a feature where a member can opt out of loading images.

Good idea. The members who turn off the pics option, they should see a link instead.

I was going to be a smart-arse and suggest those people just use Lynx, but yeah, truth be told, I can see that as being a nice feature to have. Check a box in your profile to make all piccies (or at least all non-avatar ones?) be links instead, that'd probably be handy.
