Sure it may affect the life and even your warranty.

A 8% improvement is nothing while risking your warranty and your card.

As someone once told me "A day spent reading is worth months of experimentation". If you need to ask if OCing affects component life you shouldn't be doing it. PERIOD.

I would advise you to research the subject a lot more, there are hundreds of helpful guides and tutorials on how to do this and what the effects are.

If you decide to keep the gpu forever it might get a lower lifespan, i have OC'd everything i can for quite a lot of years now, it all ends up with a proper cooling solution
