Immune to everything but starving to death

Hello group

I'm currently playing a gray elf archer who seems pretty much
invincible so far 😉 After extreme luck in treasure hunting and stat
exchanging, I now have a level 19 archer who can kill anything in melee
as well and has 7LB, DV ~50, +SeeI, =cold, regeneration, all the luck
in the world, -stun, -death, -conf, -sleep, -fire, -poison, -shock,
loads of special ammo, invisibility on demand and an amulet of life
saving to boot.

However, I made a grave mistake earlier in running around strained
while wearing my bracers of war, ancient mummy wrapping, rune-covered
trident and what have you. This resulted in apparently consuming pretty
much everything edible to be found in the Drakalor Chain. There are no
stomafillia herbs anywhere (besides no herbalism), the arena traders
have nothing left and carrying heaps of large rations from the food
shop in Terinyo does not seem to be a viable option. The character
knows nothing about surviving in the wilderness either.

I'm now constantly on the verge of starvation even with no artifacts
equipped. I've had to resort to save scumming to try out different
strategies but every attempt invariably ends in having to pray for food
for several times in a row. This in turn results in getting my entire
inventory cursed and imminent starvation. I have nothing left to
sacrifice, and besides it seems that sacrificing after too much praying
just results in full-scale cursing anyway. I haven't been able to stay
alive even while offering monsters non-stop.

On the monster hunting side I have cleared out the pyramid, high king's
tomb and darkforge with absolutely no problems at all and I feel I'd be
ready for pretty much anything, so I'd really hate to see my character
going to waste for lack of food. Any ideas on how to save my archer
from the horrible pangs of death by starvation? Are there reliable
sources of food I've overlooked? Any advice would be greatly
appreciated......

That just means you're really in the red zone. If you're persistent,
you'll get back into good graces eventually.

If the only things you've bought from the Arena are cooked lizards, it
may still be worth your while to go back there. Fried bats, while not as
nourishing as cooked lizards, are still far more nourishing than any of
the other delicacies (or nothing, as it were). Buy all the fried bats.
You can then either hang around on that level and wait for the
lizard/bat traders to restock, or you can hoof it back to Munxip's and
buy him out several times.

Once you have a reasonable food supply, all you can really do is, if you
can, get your piety back up as quickly as possible and/or keep diving
deeper into the CoC. Hopefully you'll run into some lesser/greater
vaults; besides possibly generating a lot of corpses, they usually also
generate a lot of rations and sausages and such as drops.

The only other tip I can give is to be wary of your food consumption. If
you have to go back to Munxip's, a big burden will probably be
unavoidable. Don't put any additional stress on your metabolism. In
fact, get crowned if you can; that way, you'll be able wear more
artifacts, and the blessing ought to save you some turns in fights. The
faster you move, the less food you'll need. Of course, don't get
reckless; that's been the downfall of many a PC.

Good luck.

<snip my tips>

A few things that just occurred to me: scrolls of satiation, berzio
potions, and especially potions of (potential) toughness will provide
you with nourishment.

Are you doomed or cursed (ie, not your items, just you)? If so that
will really make it difficult to keep satiated. Get in good graces,
fast... and try to get to "very close" with your god. Remember, you can
sacrifice cash as well as food/monsters, and it only takes about 10000
gp to get you to "very close" from neutral (maybe more if you are in
the red). This is money well spent, and will make life in ADOM much
more bearable.
