Hello friends,

I have a microsoft wired 600 keyboard and mouse and a xbox 360 controller for windows to help me play games. For fps titles I use the k&m whereas for other types of games I use the controller.
I would like to know the impact a gaming mouse and keyboard will bring when compared to my present system given its cost.

In short, what benefits will I have getting the gaming mouse and keyboard compared to my current setup over the huge amount money it will cost?

Thanks.

For the mouse: If you're playing competitive games like CS:GO, an accurate and comfortable mouse is quite important. I play CS myself and i use a Func Ms-2 optical ergonomic mouse. Helps me aim and keep stable, and i get no strain as you would get with small, cheap office mice. The sensor is very important in this case, as well as the switches.

If you're more into RPG's, MMO, MMORPG, MOBA then a gaming mouse isn't as important IMO. Sensors are still important, and ergonomics.

For the keyboard, this isn't nearly as important. If you get a mechanical keyboard though, you can't go back. You're hooked to the clicks.
I use a Corsair K70 with MX-red switches, and the loud clicks are important to me, since it makes me comfortable in quick...

But any PS2 keyboard will do here, as speeds and other factors really aren't important. Just the feel of the keys.

There are several advantages to a "gaming" keyboard. A good mechanical keyboard deals with ghosting issues. meaning you can press down several keys at the same time and have the board register all of them. Also the clicks feel more responsive. It also is a lot more comfortable (IMO). If you are ok with a ps2 keyboard do not upgrade without realizing that you may not be able to go back. The macro keys can throw you off while typing for a short period of time.
