important documents lost

deleted files by mistake this morning there were some important documents ,please help if there is a way to recover the deleted files, i m using ubuntu 8.10

I assume you mean they've been cleared from the trash/recycle too.

Google this, "ubuntu recover deleted files" - from a different computer.

Then next time, make backups.

Consult data recovery experts they can help you rescue all those data at minimum cost. Using software may not rescue all your data and may cause problem too.
