i need to know how to backup our pc when it is formatted

When it is formatted there is nothing to backup, formatting deletes everything on the drive, so it's too late for backup.
Maybe you want to repost and give some details as to what it is you are trying to do, assuming you havn't already formatted the drive.
Do you want a complete backup of the drive or just data files? Do you have an external drive to backup to, or do you want to use dvd's.
