Was wondering if anyone has played this game, and what they thought of it.
Is it at least damn good eye candy ?

I fooled around with it, seemed like pretty standard RTS fare. Not aweful
but not terribly great either. Certainly not a Starcraft or TA.

Eh, there's better eye-candy RTS games out now. Check out Battle for Middle
Earth for some totally sweet eye candy. Even the overview map is stunning
since it's like a real-time model of the entire middle earth (animating
what's happening but from really super-high up) and you can zoom in and see
the details of what's going on. I can't tell you if the game is any good or
not yet, still too early into it.

No nothing is SC or TA.
Only game that I recall playing that was even close was KKND 2 - Great game.

I just thought the concept of mixing a giraffe with a tiger with a monkey
sounded pretty neat - If thats what its all about.
Middle earth I have but I got frustrated with it early on when I kept getting
slaughtered in the same spot like 10 times in a row.
I'll have to pick it up again sometime.
Never made it to the RTS part yet.

I really liked Age of Empires. Age of Kings was also good. And I also
really liked Star Wars Battlegrounds. But no, you're right, none of those
were Starcraft or TA. I played KKND1, Xtreme, and KKND2 and found them
competent games but nothing super special. I also liked War something 2100,
er.. hmm... forgot the name, it was one of the first RTS titles that used
full 3D graphics engine.

And Myth. That game kicked ass.

That's not encouraging. 🙁

KKND I liked precisely because it was a fairly good knock off TA/SC, plus
it added some innovation of its own, like the ability to highly customized
units. The only dumb thing, and this is typical for alot of games, was once
you got far enough up the technology tree to create the most advanced
units, the game was over.
Age of Empires I liked also - But the micro managing of farming units and
such was a drawback in the long run for me, and I now tend to shy away from
games with farming/wood chopping peons now.
Thankfully, it seems most software vendors saw the need to change it also.

Yeah.
Obviously I must be missing something.
I don't typically get stone walled 10 minutes into a game.
