Hi, I'm trying to figure out what, within cost-effective reason, I can do to make my computer better at running games. I am not technologically savvy in the least, I'm afraid, as I never kept up on the subject. I play Final Fantasy XIV, and currently play at minimum settings.

Windows 10
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.50 GHz
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 710

I honestly don't know what else would be useful information, but ask and I can try to supply an answer. As I said, I don't know what, exactly, is making my game so laggy and causing me to significantly decrease the graphics display, but any reasonable suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Solution
Upgrading your GPU (Graphics Card) would really boost your performance you current have a low end video card (I'm not sure if it's the 1 GB or 2 GB version?) which is not enough for more modern games, any GTX 750 TI, 1050 TI or 1060 will be great if you are on low budget, and you'll notice the difference instantly regarding performance. Also make sure your computer is not overheating at all, try checking CPU Temp, GPU Temp with HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner.

1 - Update your Graphics Card driver.
2 - Scan your computer for any Viruses or Threats that could be possibly impacting on performance.

But I guess in overhall, upgrading the GPU to say the least will be beneficial if you are not looking to upgrade the entire pc.
