Hey guys,

I'm looking to build a high end gaming rig with a budget of $2500 including monitor and accessories. I don't have a lot of experience with choosing parts so if anyone would care to modify my (admittedly probably very bad) build, I would be grateful.

Hi. not a bad build but there are a few problems. first of all, getting an i7 for gaming is totally overkill. 16 gb of ram is pretty unnecesary. 8 gb is more than enough, for even next gen games(all the next gen consoles have that much so you are pretty much set for until those go out.) also, asrock motherboards are unreliable. go asus or gigabyte. getting two ssds is overkill. get one 128gb ssd and a mechanical hard drive. the titan is kind of overkill, but it is the most powerful gaming card ever, and it is extremely future proof. when getting a monitor, aim for one that has ips. it has much richer colors and huge viewing angles. logitech is ok, for desktop use, but razer is the authoroty in gaming accesories. here is your build with my modifications: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ryan27968/saved/2n3Y i have brought the price down into your price range, while giving you a better machine. enjoy.

those other people obviously havent done their research. sli causes micro stuttering, fps spikes and drops, and other annoying issues. the rule for buying gpus is: always buy the best single card you can at the moment, and then sli down the road as an upgrade.

it has little to do with modern gpus. it has to do with games. most modern games might be ok(although some, like bf3 actually still have some problems) but slightly older ones will have problems

yes agree with you for some games , it is important to check before buying a game for sli issues

''read here: http://www.overclockers.com/micro-stutter-the-dark-secr...''

this is a gtx 260 ......old one
and this is mostly an amd problem , but i thing they fixed with their latest driver

Thanks you so much for your input Ryan and Badboyrog. I'm going to do some research of my own on the SLI issue (thanks for the article though) and will probably choose which build to get by next month. About the i7, since my GPU is already overkill I thought I might also go all-out on my CPU. Is that a bad idea?

i am agree with ryan the i7 is to overkill for nothing ... for gaming a i5 4670k is enough so you can save money there
and put the money to buy the gtx 780 gpu and later you can go with adding a gpu in SLI mode , but SLI is not a problem with the new gpu gtx 700 series.
