I'm wondering if there's a way to improve the power on to ready time of my 6TB Seagate HDD? It's max is 30sec and typical 23sec.
I'm using it for my PS4 external drive that is powered up using a 2 pole mechanical relay that is triggered from the 5vcd from the PS4. The relay has 5vdc and 12vdc to the poles which the 6TB 3.5 HHD needs to operate.
Problem that the hard drive isn't ready in time for the PS4 to recognize it when starting the system from power off mode. It works fine when the PS4 is in rest mode, but that's only because the OS is already running and it can wake up the 6TB HHD. If I could access the BIOS I could probably add a delay but I don't think it's easy to access the PS4 BIOS. It only needs to be a couple secs quicker.
