Question In Need of a new Full tower that has space for DVD Writer

I'm looking to build myself a new PC soon but I want a new case that's a full tower and has space for a DVD writer.

Can anyone help me track one down, I don't wanna pay over the odds for one either.

One problem you'll run into for trying to get a good price is that you rarely see new large cases with the 5.25" support. Of the quality cases, you're going to be mostly limited to looking at older large cases, such as various Phanteks Enthoo cases. If you're looking for some of the features that have started to appear in cases the last few years, such as enhanced cable management approaches and up-to-date I/O panels, it gets very tricky fast.

Since you can get an external DVD writer for $25-$30, I'd definitely start to wonder whether that purchase is useful so as to not have my case choice significantly constrained by the DVD writer.

I looked into this for my next build and turns out Be Quiet Pure Base 600 would be able to accommodate my current DVD writer.

It's mid tower though.

To find your possible candidates, go to newegg and search for cases.
You can select a filter for front dvd bays.

I own several Fractal Design cases with room for several 5.25in drives and a couple of 120 or 140mm front panel fans underneath.

My old-style Lian Li mid and full tower cases have multiple 5.25in bays. They still appear from time to time on eBay and some are unused and still in pristine condition.

The ancient V2000 has seven 5.25in front panel bays plus room for 12 3.5in drives underneath in the base. Handy for large multi-disk TrueNAS Core arrays.

If you search hard enough, you can still find cases which aren't covered in bling and LED fans.

Phanteks ENTHOO Pro with 3 5.25" external slots. I use 2. Third is populated with a 360mm radiator to cool the 5950x. Two is more than enough..
