In Need of Video Card Recommendations!

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to help my brother find the right video card based off his system specs below.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Crucial M500 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage 2: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)

He originally had a PowerColor Radeon R9 290 4GB TurboDuo Video Card, but had black screen issues so he has to send it back. I'm not sure if his system was powerful enough.

I think it might be safe to take a step down, so please let me know your recommendations.

The system is good. Get a GTX 970 if you can.

if you mean not enough graphical power, I would think not, as a 290 is a great high end card in terms of affordability, a 280x will more than suffice for gaming. one would be looking at around $240 to $280.
If you meant power supply wise, I would think not either.
