In Search Of Monitor Professionals!

Hey guys -- I'm currently building a new gaming desktop, so I'm looking for a good monitor to compliment my tower. Going to be using a 7970 vid card (not sure what brand yet), so with that in mind, I would like to hear people's opinions on the following price range and what monitor would work the best.

Looking for suggestions for each range. So far I've had 3 monitors recommended to me, so I'll break those down into corresponding ranges. Feel free to offer opinions on the ones I post and don't hesitate to criticize or recommend others!


$200-300 range:

without looking at the specs...

it looks like you are picking out TN panel monitors. i would recommend e-ips due to the better viewing angles. only TN panels are available in 120hz though. if you arent after 3d then 60hz is more than good enough.

led backlighting is okay but in your price range you may get a blue tint to the picture which you have to adjust out. ccfl will look about the same but isnt as energy efficient howver doesnt have a blue tint.

speakers in monitors are awful. try to avoid models with speakers.

personally i prefer dell, viewsonic, asus, acer .... and stay away from benq but the choice is yours. read reviews.
