I want to build or use another computer I am not using to store files. I have a few computers that I want to share the cloud. What is good software to use??

Solution
It sounds like what you want is a server or NAS. If you want to store files and your hardware is enough then FreeNAS is a good option. If you want other functions, then a Linux distribution or Windows Server OS.

If you better describe the functions you want, we may be able to provide more info.

Solution
When you store data on or run programs from the hard drive, that's called local storage and computing. Everything you need is physically close to you, which means accessing your data is fast and easy, for that one computer, or others on the local network. Working off your hard drive is how the computer industry functioned for decades; some would argue it's still superior to cloud computing, for reasons I'll explain shortly.
