I have a the following problem. After I've shut Win2000 down once it's unable to boot again. Just after they grey line on the bottom reach like 90% of its lenght or so (while booting), the message "Inaccessible boot device" appears on the screen. I've checked the disk using ScanDisk (on the another machine, connected as a slave) and there aren't any errors. F8 options (safe modes etc.) do not help at all. I can save the data, but there are some programs which are very difficult to install, so I'd prefer to get it run again, if it's possible. Do you know any method/utility to reconstruct it? It's installed on NTFS file system.

Really need more info on the box, but

Sounds like a device problem - Something like a HiphPoint UDMA/66 EIDE controller Abit uses and will cause... or any non BIOS supported special disk controller!!! Your problem is symtomatic of that kind of problem...

Check the very first screen w2k install gives you!
Press F6 if there are special devices you need to install or press enter to continue!! It still gets me every now and then even though I know I must put in the HotRod66(HPT66 UDMA/66) controller!

Causes the same symptom!
