Incompatible ... but why ?

Hello,

My old additionnal memory stick got corrupted, so I decided to replace it with a new one. Problem : with it my computer don't boot anymore (can't even get to the BIOS screen) and get stuck in an infinite reboot loop ... So I probably didn't take the right thing.

Frequency, tension and type seem good - I really don't understand what's wrong.

Corsair memory part number CMV4GX3M1A1333C9 should be compatible.

Try clearing CMOS.

Try the DIMM in different slots.

And, as suggested in above post, try the DIMM in another computer. And/or try another known working DIMM (borrow one if necessary).

Tried and finally found something that worked ... not sure WHY it work, however.

Swith my 2 olds sticks from port 1 & 3 to 2 & 4.
Put the 2 news Corsair sticks in port 1 & 3.
Reset the BIOS settings to 'optimized'.

Any other combination of port or BIOS settings lead to my computer not booting.
So, problem solved \o/
