Incompatible Graphics Card

Hi, first of all, sorry for my bad english(im portuguese)
I was going to buy a new graphics card when i saw that my motherboard wasn't compatible with it(the motherboard is P45(P5Q) and the Graphics card is AMD HD 6670).
So if i buy it, am i going use it or not?

Why do you say motherboard is not compatible because of the PCIE generations?

I doesn't matter. PCI Express is backward compatible and you won't be losing performance and I think they are both PCIE gen 2.

You're thinking about buying a HD 6670? That is not a relevant gaming graphics card now (2017) and you'd be getting an irrelevant technology/graphic card for an irrelevant system/architecture.

I would not spend money on that "upgrade" but it should work. What is your current graphic card?

Agreed. There's no reason that I can see (off the top of my head) why that graphics card would be incompatible with your motherboard. It should work just fine.

It should work together, some of the older boards don't work with the newer cards because of the cards UEFI BIOS of the cards.

Im using a Radeon 3600 HD, and i wanted to upgrade since its old.
