Incorrect Ram Speeds

Alright,
I have a Gigabyte 965p-ds3 (Rev. 2.0) motherboard, with the latest bios. My PC Specs are:

# Hanns G HW191D 19" widescreen
# Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers
# MX518 Gaming Mouse
# G15 Gaming keyboard
# 1x 120mm Rosewill (blue) fan

The problem is My ram wont seem to go over 533 mhz, Ive tried adjusting it manually but everytime, it will reset it to 533 mhz. Im not really sure if I should bump the voltage up or what, Any Advice would be appreciated.

If you take a look at newegg and find the ram that you have, check to see if your voltage is set correctly. I believe for the DS3 mobo, the ram increases in incriments of 0.1V from 1.8V.(I have a DS3 but forgot)

I've also noticed that all the A-Data ram there are CL 5. set these correctly and you should have the ram up to 800.

It shouldn't necessarily be running at 800mhz. It all depends on the FSb speed of your processor and the fsb:Ram ratio as set in the bios.

I have an overclocked E6600 but my ram runs at 667mhz at 1:1 but its 800mhz DDR. Nothing wrong there, its just the correct speed for the FSB (FSB 1,333mhz = (667mhz in dual channel)).

So find out the relationship between the FSB, RAM and fsb:ram ratio and you'll have your answer.
