During my stint in the Diablo universe, I have accumulated much wealth
that I believed would put me in the top 5 list in AGD community. So,
it's time to let out some tips for everyone who wishes to try out that
Enigma for their skellynecro.
Trading has existed since almost as long as human history. So, why are
most people here "shy" about trading? Certain individual are better
than others at growing wheat, others are more capable of producing
quality corn. If those individuals trade each other their fine
produce, each one is better off.
Certain adventurers find more green lacquered plates, while others find
more stones that once belonged to Jordan. If they trade each other,
each one is better off.
So, how do you increase your wealth from home (from office for some of
us)? Tap into the trade markets! Note that a trade is fair when both
parties involved (think they) are better off than not trading; however,
different community are filled with people with different needs (thus
values certain items differently). There are several different trade
markets that I have known or heard, myself I was a resident of trade
channel, Battle.net forum, and RPGTraders. Other markets include,
D2jsp forum, RPGForums, irc.dclone.org channels (#trade I think),
GameFAQs forum, and others. Learn each market's characteristics. For
example, B.net forum values skill GC with life at a very high price,
whereas RPGTraders don't value Pgems as much. So, what did I do? It
was not uncommon that my post "Pul for 40 pgems" in RPGTraders got
people bidding "I give you 45 pgems". I used the gems to roll some
GC's and sold them in B.net forum. Does anyone want to guess how much
I recently sold a Fire GC with 24 life for? Ist? I'll buy 20 from you
right now and resell them for a profit of 40 Ist! I won't get to how
much Pally Combat GC with 40 life will sell for.
If you are already quite well established, trading your unused items
for pgems and use them to reroll GC's is one way to accumulate wealth.
Another way, is to make profit by tapping into this different culture.
For example, Death Fathom, 2s CoA, Griffon's Eye, among others are
highly valuable in B.net forum, however, not as much in trade channel /
B.net games, or in RPGTraders. True, there are not many of them
floating around, but if you can buy one from those sources, you are
very likely to make profit by reselling them at B.net forum. Are you
considered scamming by doing this? Is this immoral? No and no. If
someone thinks 1 Ist is a fair value for their effort in finding a
Griffon's Eye, how is that a scam? This happens all around us, Walmart
thinks 1 lb of banana worths 15c so that's how much they pay Dole
farmers, but if their customers think that same amount of banana worths
33c, then great, seal the deal.
What if you just start and don't have the initial "money" to invest in
"merchandise" (or if the ladder resets)? I reckon there are two ways
to jump the bandwagon.
First is the conservative way, MF capable character as the first
choice. Personally, I like the sorceress, Meteorb to be more specific.
She is not as item-dependent as other type of builds and there is an
end gear to aim for. Yup, the Tal Rasha set, relatively cheap, high MF
by default, and pretty sturdy to MF in any areas. Why not Fireball?
Well, if you just start, it can be hard to make an Insight stick.
Meteor is less mana dependent, therefore more can be allocated into
Vitality. I started out this way too, before entering the trade
market.
Second, is the quick-lightning way. Choose a Javazon as your first
character. Just one main goal to keep in mind, she will be a Cow
runner. With less than decent gears, she can clear the Moo Moo Farm
pretty quickly. The idea here is to collect pgems very quickly and
trade them for items and/or runes. Remember when I said skill GC with
life has a very high value in B.net forum? Obviously, a lot of the
residents there values pgems high as well. It is not too hard to buy,
say a decent Vipermagi for 10 pgems, Titan's Revenge for 3 pgems, etc.
Once your Javazon is pretty geared up, start saving those gems to be
sold in bulk! By then, you will gain recognizition in the community
and easy to buy/sell items involving drop trades. Personally, I have
bought an account full of Pgems from someone in B.net forum, that is
704 pgems. The price I offered (and accepted) at that time was 4.5 Ist
(note that at Pul per 40 pgems, 704 pgems comes to about 17-18 Pul or 3
Ist). Currently, the ongoing price is no less than 6 Ist. I know at
least two people who started this way and have managed to fill up a
mule with Ist and another with Um in less than 2 months of playing. Of
course, those kids have more online time than all of us combined.

email list with yours now on top
