Bios update finally allowed me to increase my ram speed.

MSI tomahawk
ryzen 1700
gtx 1080
16g ddr4 3200 ram

If I increase the stock speeds of the ram set by the mobo - my cpu load fluctuates and fan speed increases and decreases accordingly .

Am I missing something in the settings?

Thoughts?

Your CPU is never idle. There are always processes running in the background. And then you run applications and they add more running processes.

Higher RAM speeds cause faster processing; faster processing produces more heat; more heat causes the fans to speed up. That's the way it is supposed to work.

If it didn't happen previously your processes were not causing enough heat to trigger the raising of the fan speeds. Now that you've increased the system speed you are hitting that trip point.

You can reduce the speed and, thus the heat being produced or improve your cooling.
