Increasing Internet Speed

I have a Huawei B612 router operating with a sim card, I get a download speed of 39mbps. Is it possible to get the speed higher if I use a different router? What is required to get this done? I heard something about 5GHz being faster, but I am not sure if this router can support it.

Test it with a wired connection. If you get significantly better performance then the WIFI may be limiting. From the specs I can find, it looks like that router is a 2.4Ghz WIFI only. If you have a device that is dual band, and the wired performance is significantly better, then you might benefit from a different router. U can never "download" faster than whatever ISP plan u paid for.

Just to clarify what @JSmithepa said - you're limited by what you can get from your cellphone operator over its 3G/4G/LTE network. Of course, the router also introduces limits, but I doubt you're hitting them.
