Increasing My Fps?

How can i increase my FPS i mainly play Arma / Dayz..... PC Specs: AMD QC FX 4.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 2TB HDD, AMD HD7770.

your parts seem fine. Go to amd's web. :http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
put in your gpu, to overclock cpu/gpu, you do it in you're mobo's bios.

Upgrading your graphics card usually is the best way to increase your fps, the HD 7770 is a decent card but not a high performer, check what psu you have to see how much higher you can go with a new graphics card.

what cpu are you using? amd quad core is pretty vague.

the x1xx series of fx cpu's aren't good for gaming. first thing i would do is upgrade to either a 6300 or 8300 series cpu, just check your motherboard compatibility.

also, whats resolution do you game at?

arma and dayz are very cpu dependent. the 7770 is decent for entry level 1080p gaming, on medium settings. you will notice more gain in fps by upgrading your cpu first, and then your gpu later if needed.

do you know what motherboard you are using? i can check compatability for you and recommend a better cpu.

the board you have will accept a 6300/6350 or 8320/8350.

depends on how much you want to spend really. its all up to you.

if it were me, i would use the 6350, but im not big into overclocking (nor amd for that matter).

if you want to overclock, the 6300 is a good choice for the money.

Or do you reccomend completely scrapping AMD.... and going Intel

considering you already have a motherboard that will support the best amd chips available, i would not switch to intel.

a simple cpu change will help you greatly. and will support a gpu update down the road.

okay so you're saying to get the AMD FX-6350 CPU and buy a graphics card later on down the road...

the 6350 is the same as the 6300 but its clocked higher from the factory. so if you were planning on overclocking, you might save a few bucks by getting a 6300. if not, it really doesnt make much of a difference.

but yes, that and a gpu down the road is a good idea.

i mention overclocking because you already are, and im assuming you already have a decent cpu cooler.

oh 4.2ghz is not overclocked, my mistake. in that case, go for the 6350.

also, do you know the make and model of your power supply? this way i can let you know if you'll need to replace it before getting a better gpu.

depends on your budget, but you will need to replace that power supply before upgrading your gpu.
