Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I have a system that i built in 2010 that is needing some upgrades. Here's my current system;

Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
ASUS Sabertooth X58
ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU TOP/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460
CORSAIR Professional Series HX850
Western Digital Caviar Black WD6402AAEX 640GB 7200 RPM
Full liquid cooling on gpu and pcu

With some of the latest games out I am seeing my RAM usage go up and up to the point that I'm scraping the ceiling. On higher end games I noticing only about 500-600 MB free. I'm looking at installing another 6GB making my total 12GB. Now, I'm looking at purchasing some from amazon but they've only got the higher latency modules. My timings are 7-8-7-20, wheres the modules on amazon are 9-9-9-24. I can get a set with like timings 7-8-7-20 elsewhere but they are twice the price and I'm not sure if I'll even notice a difference. By the way I primarily game on this rig.

My question is will I see a difference if i just purchase 9-9-9-24 modules and mix them in with my 7-8-7-20 modules?

Thank You
