Increasing space in Intel Rapid Storage Array

I want to increase the storage in a RAID5 array in Intel Rapid Storage from 6TB (4 x 2tb disks) to 12tb using 4 x 4tb disks. As I understand it I should be able to change each disk in turn and rebuild the array, which when all the disks are changed there should be some in allocated space in windows disk manager which can then be used to increase the size of the volumes in the array. Is this correct?

Also I have some used 4tb drives which I obtained a while back. Can these be used or do the new drives have to be new and unused?

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

Correct on your statement, on the disk manager you can "extend" the array with the new disk.

Regarding the other question, you can use the "old" used drives, just be sure that are working and without problems.
