I have installed and am successfully running Linksys' WCG200
Wireless-G Cable Gateway at my home. Just got a new laptop which I
would like to use upstairs in my bedroom using the wireless
connection. Either I am in a dead spot, or bordering on a very weak
signal up in my bedroom (altogether about 40 feet away as the crow
flies from the wireless router on the first floor). I would like to
find a device which I can use to repeat / boost the signal coming from
the Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway - preferably without having to
run additional cables back to the gateway.
Seemingly Linksys does not offer any sort of signal
amplifier/repeater. Is there any device available that I can just
plug in and boost the weak signal that will work with Linksys'
products? Additionally, the Linksys gateway (like many of Linksys'
devices), have dual antennas - is there a preferred method of pointing
the antennas which may increase the signal in and of itself? And
furthermore, will I get bet coverage if mount the Wireless-G Cable
Gateway up high as opposed to leaving the gateway on my desk - does it
really make that big a difference?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide me.
