My aunt messaged me asking if I could help figure out what was wrong with her laptop, she sent a video of the sound, it sounds like basketball shoes stopping on the court, any help at all is very much appreciated! :)

^ that is the sound (the clicking in the background is their dog)

Clicking being the dog's claws on the floor- correct?

As for the basketball shoes squeak I would suspect a fan.

Make and model laptop? Age?

Two immediate thoughts:

1) Does she have all important data on the laptop backed up and verified as recoverable and readable?

2) By "work computer" does that mean the laptop is owned by her employer? If so, the problem needs to be addressed by her employer's IT person/staff. If there is one.....

Definitely the sound of a dying fan motor. The only way to fix this is to replace the fan. It's not far from full failure which will result in a shutdown due to overheating. As above, if this was issued by her employer then the IT department is responsible for service/repair/replacement.
