I use a program called audio router. Here is a link to it:

To be honest im not sure how to use it that well... I just mess around and somehow it works. Sometimes it does take some tinkering in the settings to get it to work. I hope this helps.

The issue comes down to software output options. Unless the software has an option to choose device, all sound goes to the default device. Any good video player can choose. Otherwise you will need to use 3rd party software to choose device per program.
