So I just built a desktop and installed windows on my ssd. I have a ssd and a hdd set up. I disabled indexing on my SSD and restarted my computer. After I did it, I am unable to start tons of different programs. For example, I can't start taskmgr.exe or teamspeak, or even system restore. They all give me an error saying file wasn't found make sure you typed it in correctly. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this considering I am unable to restore??

Thanks

Solution
At this point, the easiest way ahead is simply a full reinstall.

Remove all other drives but the target OS drive.
Put the DVD in and boot from it.
Install.
Install any needed updates and drivers.
Indexing has nothing to do with that. Why are you typing in program names? That's not a normal way to run things.

Did you clone a previous install? Sounds like you have them installed somewhere else and the path is no longer valid. Either way. Remove any boot segments from the HDD(or wipe it) and disconnect it. Re-Install windows on the SSD and do your initial setup. Reconnect HDD and install your programs.

I'm not typing in program names. That is the error it's telling me. I am directly clicking on things to run. I do not think I cloned anything but I did attempt to change the registry to make my HDD the default path for program files. I changed 4 values to have F:\Program Files (x86) or F:\Program Files instead of C

Ahhh....the Registry values are much more complex than that.
What you really needed to do is install the applications to F, rather than try to force it via a Registry change.

Change the Registry back to how it was.
Reinstall any applications, but choose Custom or Advanced during the install. Select whichever drive you want.

I can't open the registry anymore... It says that it cant be found either lol...

Oh my....

Will that wipe my ssd clean?

Generally, yes.

K just formatted. I can delete windows.old eventually correct?

Yes. If there is anything you absolutely need in there, obviously get it our first.
