Indexing Service Turn Off

Ok, I am now getting a application error in the file cidaemon.exe I have read it is the indexing service, but I can not figure out how to turn it off. Please help, I really appreciate it. I personally think I got a virus due to I opened an exe file on a program (Cant mention it, sorry) and it went into CLI for a sec, but did not do anything else, and from that day my computer started with that error, I did a scan with 2 different virus programs (Ad Ware, and the Windows) and nothing. Any ideas this message is driving me CRAZY! (Ohh wait, I am already there)
