Inexpensive gaming computer (need advice)

Budget Range: $400-450 (after shipping)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, general home use

Parts Not Required: keyboard, monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com if possible

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: i would like to use an AMD motherboard and processor; unless any reasonably priced intel parts are available

Overclocking: no

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe (if it doesnt kill my wallet)

Monitor Resolution: N/A

Additional Comments: this is my first ever computer build and any help and advice would be greatly appreciated

you wont be able to pay that much stuff with this build, but it wont be terrible. in the future, throw in a 6670 to set up hybrid crossfire. this allows the gpu on the chip and the gpu itself to work together

My advice to you? Don't...

My personal philosophy with any expensive purchase is to get the most bang for your buck. In the realm of computers, that is not in the price segment you listed. You would get a lot more out of your system in terms of gamin performance by waiting and saving up another ~$200, or more. Not saying that a build at this point won't run games, but it will certainly not run them well. If you can up some more in a reasonable amount of time, I highly recommend doing so.

Having a 6670 is better than having the on die graphics found in AMD's Llano offerings, while Intel Pentium's trade blows with some of AMD's best in games.

I want to stress again though that you would be much better off saving some money so you can upgrade the build.
