Is there such a thing as a gaming pc that won't cost me an arm and a leg? I've noticed that most of these "gaming PCs" cost $400 and up. I'm wondering if there is one I can build of buy that will let my play most games at a reasonable speed on medium graphics. Maybe an upgradable prebuilt one?

Any help is appreciated

unfortunately, these things, gaming pc's come at a price. unless you just want to play casual games with no dedicated gpu.

watchout for prebuilt ones, check the specs, some put low capacity psu and will require an upgrade when you upgrade other parts esp gpu.
some will come with a small case where you won't be able to put decent gpu (these tend to be long)

You could if you didn't mind getting one or two second hand parts. But then again you have to be careful with second hand parts! Under 400 should be able to run the latest games on 1080p medium smoothly. Sometimes you can find great deals for second hand parts.
