I have a 5930k processor and I have been tossing around the idea of building a machine. The problem is, I will need to buy DDR4 Ram because of the chipset change. Any ballpark for what a new motherboard and ram would cost me to work with the x99 chipset and put together a solid build? Last I looked, a solid Asus motherboard would run me about 400-500 bucks with the 2011v3 socket. 16 GB of DDR4 was about $250 bucks. Does anyone know of the most inexpensive but solid hardware that would be recommended to be a companion to the processor I already have? Any input is appreciated! Like I said, finances are a concern but I don't have a set cap.

The X99 utilizes Quad Channel RAM. You would want four sticks for stability. Similar concept the Z series. Two for stability and Dual Channel RAM.
You can get a good MOBO for a little above $200, and do you really need 16GB of Ram?you can also get 8GB DDR4 Ram and upgrade later on if you really need it.
