Hi

so i have a Asus board : P5LD2 , with a p4 805.
My graphic card is a Asus Extreme EAX550 128 ATI.

So i have seen many that put the pci-express speed bus at 118 Mhz instead of 90. So is this a good way to got more performance from this low cost graphic card ?

Thanks

I have heard that almost all PCI-Express 16x cards doesn´t use all the power in 16x, so why even bother to try making it go faster? I mean when cards cannot use all of the speed that is available today...

I have an asus p5gd1 and played a lot with the bios settings and mostly got poor reliability when changing the speed settings of the pci-e bus.

The best thing to do is keep the stock (or auto) settings and overclock with the utility you like most.

Atitool/rivatuner etc...
