Hi im looking at building/buying a pc for playing the likes of command and conquer, civ 5 and the sims 1,2,3 on a budget. im looking at using =
tower Vantage black
cpu Amd fx 6100 3.3 x6
mobo Gigabyte m68mt-s2
Hdd Seagate 250gb
ram Patriot 2gb @1333
gpu Ati 6450

would this system be able to play the said games and everyday use for a family of 3? i know the bulldozer cpu isn't great but money comes first. would i be able to upgrade the gpu at a later date with that mobo or would i need to get a new mobo for a better gpu?

any help would be grateful.
thanks lee

I'm not a fan of the nvidia chipset on that mb. I suggest this MB instead

you listed a $140 6 core CPU, which is over kill for what you really need. I suggest the FX-4100 or switching to a intel platform with a G8xx CPU. put the money saved into a more robust GPU. an ATI 6450 isn't that powerful, though the games you listed aren't that taxing. what resolution is your monitor?

2 Gbs of Ram is ok for win xp, but 4 is better for win7.

I never heard of the Tower you cited, and I didn't see a power supply noted.

If you post your budget and fill out this form the community can better advise you. post what city you are in as there maybe a MicroCenter near you and sometimes they have great in-store only deals.

the system ive mentioned above is pre-made. im trying to find out what the psu is just waiting for a reply. and ive no idea what res ill be using :S. im in the uk (middlesbrough) the system cost around £230 ($359) and i plan on upgrading the ram once ive got the £££.

the CPU is a little over kill and the GPU isn't quite enough.

it seems to be a good value for the money, with the knowledge that you will need 2 GB more of Ram and and a better video card (Radeon HD 6670 is a good starting point).
