I want to install and use Windows xp as the primary operating system, because my father used to work on my pc some times. after changing the cpu and mobo for some reason I cannot install winxp on this newer hardware cause there is no official windows xp driver support on gigabytes website for the particular mobo I have. my father is not very familiar with win7 nor I, he always ask me to have windows xp on this new system. currently I'm sticking with win7 but i really want winXP back. SO, how can i do this in simple and normal way "not in hacking way" VM is not the option because this is a very low spec pc. So I really need help on this topic,
hardware specs is
mobo - gigabyte h81m-s1(rev2.1)
cpu - intel g3220
gpu - ati radeon hd5450
ram - 4gb ddr3
hdd - 500gb seagate

Solution
Without XP drivers from the motherboard manufacturer you have no option but to use Windows 7 or later unless you buy an old, second-hand prebuilt PC with XP pre-installed for your dad to use.

I really urge you to persevere with Windows 7 though because it beats XP by a long way, and the more you both use it, the quicker you'll get used to it (the user-interface isn't all that much different to XP anyway, most of the changes are under the hood.

I had no problem moving over from XP to Windows 7, and I'm nearly 70!

You can't stick with what you are used to forever, you have to learn to adapt and make use of new technology otherwise we would all still be living in caves.

Just learn Windows 7. It's really not that different from XP. XP service ended 2 years ago. Get with the times already! We're already past Windows 7. We're already past 8 and 8.1. If you want legacy software, your best bet is to use legacy hardware.

Unless you have an app that will only run on XP, go with windows 7.
Your father will have no problem with it.
XP has no support anymore and is vulnerable to hackers.

I might also suggest you install windows on a ssd, it will make all the difference in the world in everyday performance.
120gb should be minimum.

thank you so much for suggesting me and yes it's the only option to me. thank you for precious time..

well you may get some things to work and some may not intel can be more proprietary [look how skylake near forces you to win-10 ]

if you want a system that still supports win-xp out of the box you need to look at a AMD AM3+ I think it still has full support fo xp - them with newer ''high end '' amd cards only support 7 or higher and newer NVidia cards only the gtx 960/950 has official xp support from NVidia

I'm sure you could find workarounds on the web but you may not find any official support and your on your own and all at own risk

I'm one of the people who is going to stick with Windows 7 for as long as possible as I know how to use its file system to access what I need and its just a whole lot better then Windows XP minus Windows 7's rubbish Windows update system.

I recently got another copy as I got an SSD and my old copy would not work which sucked. You can get Windows 7 refurbished discs dead cheap off Amazon now anyways which are official copies.

Thank you so much for the information you provided. After searching those content on the web I found a lot of information about my system and find that intel no longer supports xp with their new chipsets so, it is near impossible to have xp back, now I'm going to stick with windows7 for a long time.

Yes the new updating system in windows 7 is a mess,
After completing the installation I when I checked for updates it took nearly about 3-4 hours to do a complete update check (A whole t20 game finished during the update check) but that's not the whole story I usually download 15-20 updates at a time to avoid the failure. after installing half of the updates when I tried to download the left ones it stuck at 0% 0kb for forver. I had to do a lot of workarounds to get that thing fixed. was it my fault or the system's??

I was in the same boat as you when I started the updates and it just failed all of them accept one and that's after 2 hours and it was on the SSD.

I fixed it by going into the Windows update settings so that it only checked and then downloaded the updates I told it to then I would do 10 updates then restart and so on till they were done and I only got the odd failed update down and then but it would then remove that update if it fails so it was probably something the OS did not need or was incompatible with my computer. Out of the 200+ updates I attempted to install only about 20 failed then deleted themselves from the updates to install list.

Yeah I should go for another build cause he uses my pc . could you please provide an cheap amd combo?

Any AMD APU processor and micro ATX mobo + 1 stick of 8GB 1866 RAM. If you want to see it fly ad an SSD of appropriate size. 120GB may do just fine.
A4-7300 3.8GHz 1MB
MSI A68HM-E33
Kingston 8GB 1866MHz DDR3 HX318C10FW/8
SanDisk Z400s Series SD8SBAT-128G-1122
350W PSU would be quite enough
Internet, multimedia and even some simpler games would run just fine.

only thing I would worry about with the newer fm type chips is the full xp support on the onboard/chip graphics and why I would tend to try to stick with a AM3+ , but that's your research/homework and your call on all that then a FX chip on a AM3+ would be a bit more powerful..

I really don't know much on the FM 2 type stuff

Thankyou. Just what I was looking for..
